Playpen Sans Thai is a casual handwriting typeface from TypeTogether that imitates relaxed, natural hand lettering, extending the popular Playpen Sans into the Thai script. It is a variable font, free on Google Fonts under the SIL Open Font License, with a weight range from Thin to ExtraBold and matching Latin. The Thai was drawn by Bangkok-based designer Sirin Gunkloy alongside the TypeTogether team of Laura Meseguer, Veronika Burian, and José Scaglione, and Google Fonts published it in March 2025.

Playpen Sans began as more than two years of TypeTogether research into how children learn to write, which is why the letterforms feel like friendly, confident handwriting rather than a formal type design. A defining technical feature carried over from the Latin is that Playpen Sans was drawn with several versions of each glyph plus a built-in shuffler, so repeated letters never sit next to identical shapes, mimicking the natural variation of real handwriting. Weight runs smoothly from a delicate Thin to a chunky ExtraBold, letting the same voice serve fine captions and bold, marker-style headlines.
