IBM Plex Sans Thai Looped is the looped, traditional-Thai cut of IBM’s corporate typeface, drawn so the head loops that native readers expect are fully present rather than cut open. It ships free on Google Fonts under the SIL Open Font License in seven weights, from Thin to Bold, with matching Latin. Where the loopless IBM Plex Sans Thai opens the terminals for a stripped-down modern look, this Looped version keeps the loops, so it reads as calmer and more conventionally Thai in running text.

The Thai extension of IBM Plex was designed by Mark Frömberg together with Ben Mitchell in 2018, built on the Latin structure that Mike Abbink and Bold Monday created for IBM’s global brand. Google Fonts published the Looped family in June 2021, giving Thai teams an open-licensed corporate system that finally matches IBM’s own Latin across scripts.

The Latin companion is the standard IBM Plex Sans: a neutral grotesque with a faint humanist warmth.
