iannnnn-HEN (แม่ไก่) is a Thai handwriting typeface released free for commercial use by Prachya Singhto in June 2025, with three free weights: Thin, Regular and Bold. The designer’s own description of it is the most useful summary anyone could write: he set out to make something serious and ended up with something impish.
That gap between intent and result is the face’s character. HEN has the structure of a composed hand — regular rhythm, controlled proportions — with details that keep undercutting the seriousness. He states it works for both headlines and body text, which is a claim most handwriting faces in this category cannot make.

Character design and tone
iannnnn-HEN reads as friendly and joyful without becoming a novelty face, which is the narrow band most children’s and consumer handwriting briefs actually need. The Thin weight is the interesting one: thin strokes in a Thai handwriting face usually break down around the tone marks, and having one at all widens the range considerably.
